About the programme
The main objective of the Computer Engineering program from University of Cyprus is to educate and train in-depth engineers in various fields of computer engineering, who will subsequently be able to solve advanced computer engineering problems using software tools and state-of-the-art equipment. the life sciences that can lead to education and research in biomedical engineering.
In this problem solving process, technological constraints and constraints inherent to the problem at hand, both in terms of hardware and software, are taken into account. Furthermore, the program aims to introduce students to the cutting-edge research and innovation currently taking place in the various areas of Computer Engineering.
The Computer Engineering program from University of Cyprus emphasizes mastery in the field of interest of each student as well as advanced knowledge of other subjects in related areas. It is tailored to meet the needs of each student with some certain general restrictions set by the Department. The course offerings provide the student with an opportunity to deepen his or her knowledge in a specific area of computer engineering, as well as broaden his or her knowledge by also taking courses in a number of other areas of computer engineering.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Despite the fact that the Cypriot market is at an embryonic stage in creating such jobs (according to the same Eurostat survey, the corresponding high-tech jobs in Cyprus fluctuated to around 1% in 2016), the combination of the high expenditure of the Cypriot government in the field of Education, Research and Development combined with the rising employment rate of recent graduates is expected to provide a big push to Cyprus’s effort to create a knowledge-based society. The ECE Department atUCY, is therefore expected to play a leading role in this transition. In particular, accordingto the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) of Cyprus, the forecast for Cyprus is that the number of total jobs per sector related to the broader field of Computer Engineering is capable of absorbing the expected annual number of graduates of the ECE department.
